Punta Pitt lies in the northeastern tip of San Cristobal Island. Due to its convenient location, Punta Pitt is the only place where you can see all three booby species: blue-footed, red-footed and Nazca boobies. As the food supply is sufficient and each species nests in a different area, there is no competition amongst the three booby species. The landing point is a rather small olivine beach where sea lions hang around. To reach the trails, you have to climb a steep part with rocky steps from the beach to the plateau. |
Highlights: | Good chances to see blue-footed, red-footed and Nazca boobies |
Permitted activities: | Hiking, snorkeling |
Tip: | Bring your walking stick because the rocky steps leading to the trail can be slippery. |
