The Lobos Islet lies off the southeastern shore of San Cristobal Island. As the islet’s name suggests, its main residents are sea lions (lobos marinos) and Galapagos fur seals (lobos peleteros). However, the islet has many more inhabitants. The hike across the whole islet leads you through a rocky part with arid vegetation where blue-footed boobies and frigate birds nest. During a dinghy ride along the shore, you can also observe other sea birds like pelicans. This visitor site is also an excellent spot to snorkel with playful sea lion pups. |
