All the trips they arranged were on time and of good quality. Guides and hotel were all good as well. Midland's staff was very responsive during our trip to our questions and in quickly fixing one hotel's billing error. We would definitely use them again.Our general advice for future travelers that have some budget flexibility-- when booking boat rides and tours in the Galapagos, be sure to ask about the group max size. Some may have too many people for the small size of the boat or van that it detracts from the experience. The plan was to walk the streets and visit several travel agencies to see what cruises were available, prices etc. We did have some ideas already from our research. We sat down with Alejandro for a couple of hours as we chatted and he worked out dates and hooked us up with 2 cruises seperated by 5 nights on the islands. You just knew he was at the top of his game and we had so much confidence in him that we booked and paid a deposit and never looked at another travel agency. We had the most fantastic 8 day catamaran cruise on Nemo 2. You couldn't fault anything. Crew, boat, meals and you would swear that they organized the dozen or so hammerhead sharks to be there just gliding underneath us as we snorkeled. Unfortunately the rest of our time was cut short by the COVID 19 virus and we got stuck on the island for 9 nights. Who do you think emailed us to see if we were OK. Yes. Alejandro. We have returned to the mainland but not home yet. Alejandro keeps checking and answering my many questions as to what's going on. He lifts my spirits and encourages us that we will be home soon. I hope that when things in our world return to some normalcy that tourists return to this piece of wildlife wonderland and let Alejandro and the team at Midland Travel help you with your plans. We are “the planning-type”-people, budget-minded, adventurous and not wanting to miss out on a activity.1: Our 14 days Cruise in the Galapagos was on the NEMO III, after a lot of self-study about the itineries, travel agencies, ... We booked for the first time with Midlandtravel, way in advance, which means, they need a deposit. That brought us to the first trust issue: Transfer “a decent amount of money” to a – for us – unkown company in a South-American country… Again here, it was the very positive tripadvisor reviews which gave us the courage to go for it. Also the lots of back and forth emails made the suspiciousness in our minds go away.2: In SO-Asia, we fell in love with diving, and since Galapagos was allready on our list… We could not miss out on 1 of the best dive-spots-worldwide: Wolf & Darwin Island. With a little over 50 dives, we could hook up to a live-aboard on the Nortada in September. This was truly one of our highlights on our 15 months worldtrip!!! 3: Wanting to visit a ecologically responsible stay in the Amazon, Alejandro convinced us to visit the Yasuni National Park. He knows the differences between the lodges, and knows what we look for: a little off the beaten track, but still with the basic comforts. We stayed first 2 nights in the lodge, 1 night on a platform in a canopy tree (highly recomended!) and again 2 nights in the lodge. He made sure the jungle-walks were a bit more adventourus. It was an amazing experience…4: As a gift for all our bookings, we got a full-day-tour in Quito with a very friendly, local guide. We ended our tour at the agency itsself and got to know Alejandro and his wife and all the co-workers in person.Not only did Alejandro make us a good price for the tours, he also made sure everyone showed up when and where they were supposed to, and checked up on us if everything was how we wanted it.I found the service and response of Midlandtravel excellent. Our emails were promptly responded. Also when we reached out for help with our other travel needs/questions they did an excellent job answering (even if it wasn’t about a tour with them, or some random information)! Responsive and helpful agency with willingness to be flexible. Excellent quality, honnest, personalised service, reliable, and very important: understanding our needs. He helped us book an amazon tour in Ecuador and our tours in Cusco, Peru!The dolphin lodge was great, rooms were clean, mosquito nets were effective, it was a comfortable sleep. Food was okay, small portions, but diverse. Saw dolphins, cayman, anacondas, lots of spiders & insects, frogs, monkeys, birds and our guide Pedro was super sweet and our group was young which was nice! 🙂 Our tours in Peru were informative and educational. We did the half day city tour, sacred valley and Machu Picchu! The buffet at the top of Machu Picchu is delicious and well worth it!! View was breathtaking! The accommodation at the posada inn wasn’t great. Breakfast was bread, ham and cheese, very disappointing. Also the room was absolutely freezing even with 5 blankets we were so cold! Shower and taps would drip water all night and very noisy. Showers weren’t hot. We have informed Midland and they said they will make a note not to use that hotel again. Other than that our trip has been incredible! They are better at booking an itinerary that is more affordable and with higher quality than you can.Details:Alejandro and his team have done this for almost a decade and their 5-star rating holds true. They have relationships and knowledge of which tours and transportation methods that are the best value for the quality. Everything he booked was better than I could have booked and with a better price (and I'm super great at research). Also, they have great post-booking customer service via Whatsapp or email and will assist you during your entire vacation. Money can't buy that kind of service or piece of mind.Examples:- We had a very complex vacation where we wanted to do almost everything and everywhere in Ecuador/Galapagos. Alejandro spent 3 hours (we also rested for a lunch break) to thoroughly explain every detail about each potential thing we wanted to do and when it would be scheduled in to make it work. We explored many variations of transportation options between all the locations with also many questions asked about what the quality of each experience and pricing would be like. - Alejandro helped us finalize our itinerary on spreadsheet. We knew the start and end date/times for each part of our complex trip within 2 days after wire payment. Super knowledgable and organized planner.- Alejandro booked us a last minute 6-day cruise at a very reasonable price. He not only explained itineraries of every boat as if he knew them at like the back of his hand, but also what the class differences were actually like, what year the cruise boats were manufactured and where.- Great example of insider knowledge: Alejandro booked a ferry for us that was super comfortable and not crowded during a journey between Puerto Ayora and Villamil. When it came time for us to book our own ferry between Ayora and San Cristobal, our ferry we booked ourselves was poor quality with it being over croweded and super uncomfortable. When I asked him how he managed to book such a nice boat at the same price, he said: "It's because they know the name of the exact boat they want to book that are newer so it's more comfortable".
